Imagery of Racine County for the year 2000. This data set consists of digital orthophoto images obtained from 1:20,000 scale black-and-white aerial photography acquired in the spring of 2000. The orthophoto files are prepared at two different scales: 1"=400' and 1"=200'. Each 400-scale image nominally covers four U.S. Public Land Survey System sections, for a total of 703 digital image files in the 400-scale data set. The pixel resolution of the 400-scale imagery is two feet on the ground, and the files contain overlap between images. Each 200-scale image covers an area of 5,000 by 5,000 feet on the Wisconsin State Plane Coordinate System, South Zone, for a total of 3,250 images in the 200-scale data set. The pixel resolution of the 200-scale imagery is one foot on the ground, with zero overlap between images. All orthophoto files are in GeoTIFF format with accompanying "world" (tfw) files. This data set was collected to provide an inventory of orthophoto images of Southeastern Wisconsin and to be used for broad regional planning purposes. The 400-scale orthophoto images in this data set were prepared to meet National Map Accuracy Standards for 1:4800 scale mapping. The resolution of each pixel in the 400-scale files is two feet on the ground. Therefore, ninety percent or more of all well-defined planimetric features visible in the 400-scale imagery are within approximately 15 feet of their true position on the ground. The 200-scale orthophoto images in this data set were prepared to meet National Map Accuracy Standards for 1:2400 scale mapping. The resolution of each pixel in the 200-scale files is one foot on the ground. Therefore, ninety percent or more of all well-defined planimetric features visible in the 200-scale imagery are within approximately 8 feet of their true position on the ground.Grid_Coordinate_System_Name: State Plane Coordinate System 1927
