Abstract
This data represents general zoning for Richland County, Wisconsin in 2025.
Purpose
This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This feature class keeps track of all tax parcels that have been rezoned to a different zoning district. On January 5, 2015 values were added to keep track of Legal/Illegal/Non-conforming parcels Legal-NC - Legal Non-conforming parcel. Illegal-NC - Parcel is illegal and should be rezoned before it can be built on. Legal - Parcel was found to be a buildable lot as is. Researched - Parcel did not specify whether it was illegal or legal but research has been done on it and can be looked up in 3-ring binders in the office of the Zoning Administrator. (Legal-illegal-non conforming) At the time of mapping illegal parcels that had been rezoned to the proper designation were not included in the conforming/non-conforming. Jurisdiction Field is the jurisdiction that creates and maintains the zoning feature which at this point should always be Richland County except for townships that do their own zoning or that are unzoned. Zone owner would be either the township or the County if the County did the rezone process.]
