- This data layer represents addresses for Washburn County, Wisconsin in 2018. It is a feature class within the geodatabase, "Washburn_Addresses_2018.gdb". The features included in this geodatabase are "Washburn_Buildings_2018" and "Washburn_Driveways_2018".[Addresses: This data set consists of digital map files containing addressing or site access information obtained primarily by conducting lab work using aerial imagery. Features contained in the data set include all site access points countywide and associated attributes. Site access points sometimes are referred to as addresses, however these data typically represent the intersection of the public road right of way and the private entrance to private property. The Washburn County plans to maintain this digital data in ESRI's ArcGIS 9.x geodatabase environment using ArcMap tools. Some of the data was developed using field data collection techniques and field data collection will be used extensively to maintain the data. There are attributes in the data documenting each record source.Driveways: This data set consists of digital map files containing driveways obtained by conducting lab work using aerial imagery. Features contained in the data set include numerous driveways that are necessary to provide information to help connect or point the way between the site access point and the primary structure.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [Addresses: There are numerous reasons for developing the site access feature class. 1) Existing address documentation; 2) Enhance methodology to issue new addresses; 3) Provide locational information for emergency services within Washburn County; 4) Publish hard copy map products like platbooks and emergency services atlases 5) Help maintain accurate parcel addresses in the property tax database; 6) Help improve the accuracy of the telephone company's ANI/ALI database 7) Many other uses in other County Departments. Buildings: This data set consists of digital map files containing addressing or building information obtained primarily by conducting lab work using aerial imagery. Features contained in the data set include all building or primary structure points countywide and associated attributes. Building points sometimes are referred to as primary structures, however these data typically represent the main building(s) that have been addressed on each parcel. The Washburn County plans to maintain this digital data in ESRI's ArcGIS 10.x geodatabase environment using ArcMap tools. Some of the data was developed using field data collection techniques and field data collection will be used extensively to maintain the data. There are attributes in the data documenting the source for each record. Site access points are always present as a related feature class, however not all site access points are accompanied by a building point. Driveways: The primary purpose of this data is to provide a "bread crumb" trail from the site access point to the primary structure to improve emergency services. A secondary purpose is to help identify driveways that may need to be "named" private roads to help alleviate addressing problems (multiple addresses on a private drive).]
