- Abstract
- This data layer represents roads for Taylor County, Wisconsin in 2013. [This data set originates from the Taylor County Surveyors office. It was created by GPSing and digitizing. ADC did some additional digitizing to fix roads using the new imagery. The new imagery just became available this August. Some of the original data provided was outdated and has since been removed. All road names have been corrected, updated or confirmed using provided reference sources. There is just over 1,800 miles of roads in Taylor County. Taylor County plants to maintain this data in an ESRI ArcGIS environment.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [The creation and maintenance of this data is a foundational element for the Taylor County Land Information System. The road centerline feature class provides a digital representation of all named private drives, streets, county roads and state highways within Taylor County and is to be used in conjunction with developed digital building, site access points, and driveway feature classes. The road centerline feature class was intended to be used to enhance addressing information within the county.]
