Abstract
This data layer represents addresses for Clark County, Wisconsin in 2014. It is a feature class within the geodatabase "Clark_Addresses_2014.gdb". [The rural address system runs on a N and W grid from the south east corner of the county. All unincorporated municipalties use the county rural address grid. The address number for a location represents the intersection of entrance from the public road. No address numbers are given from a private road.]
Purpose
This layer is intended for students, faculty, and staff of the University of Wisconsin-Madison for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [The address layer marks the location of each rural address number. Traditionally, and for future purposes the address layer will only maintain those addresses on the rural address system. Addresses for cities will only be acquired when input comes in from the sheriffs department. Keeping an inventory of address numbers allows for identification of problematic numbers and prevents future numbering discrepancies.]
