- This line data layer represents roads for Vernon County, Wisconsin at year-end 2016.[This data set consists of digital map files containing road centerline information obtained predominantly by heads up digitizing off of ortho imagery, and through previously created datasets maintained by Vernon County. Features contained in the data set include all road centerlines countywide and associated attributes and annotation.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This data set was created as a foundational element for the Vernon County Land Information System. The road centerline feature class provides a digital representation of all named private drives, streets, county roads, state highways, and federal highways within Vernon County and is to be used in conjunction with developed digital building, site access points, and driveway feature classes. The road centerline feature class was intended to be used to enhance addressing information within the County.]

- Augmented original metadata with UW-Madison specific elements. This data was submitted to the UW geospatial archive in 2017. Content may be considered current as of December 31, 2016. It was published to the UW geospatial archive as part of the Wisconsin Department of Administration Land Information Program annual collection of public data for the year 2017.
