Abstract
This data represents addresses for Taylor County, WIsconsin in 2021. [This data set consists of digital map files containing addressing or site access information obtained by lab work. Features contained in the data set include all site access points countywide and associated attributes. Features contained in the data set include all site access points countywide and associated attributes. Site access points sometimes are referred to as addresses, however these data typically represent the intersection of the public road right of way and the private entrance to the property. In urban areas the site access is represented at the located where the primary structure is perpendicular to the public road right of way. The Taylor County Land Information Office plans to maintain this digital data in geodatabase format in an ESRI ArcSDE environment using ArcMap tools.]
Purpose
This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
Supplemental Information
This is an archived copy of the data held at UW-Madison. [This data set was created as a foundational element for the Taylor County Land Information System. The site access feature class provides a digital representation of all addresses or site access points within Taylor County and is to be used in conjunction with developed digital road centerline, building, and driveway feature classes. The site access feature class was intended to be used to enhance addressing information within the County.]

[Step 5: All spatial attributes were then assigned to the address points. In the case of ESN and zip codes, the number is taken from the building location. Municipality name was assigned based on the site access location.]

[Step 2: The first data to be created for each address was the building point, so the process for creating the site access points were mostly done on the buildings. The site access point is simply a copy of the building point. If there was no building point then the site access point was created without any building point.]

[Step 4: Site access point was then placed on or adjacent to the intersection between the drive and road. When multiple addresses share the same entrance location they are placed adjacent to the drive.]

[Step 6: Because there is always a site access point for each address, but not necessarily a building point, the site access data is the main data source. Addresses were matched to the property tax database and ANI/ALI to find misssing addresses and to obtain additional modifier addresses.]
