This data represents public land survey system (PLSS) corners for Bayfield County in 2023.[This layer contains PLSS section corner records on file in Bayfield County.Link to metadata information: https://www.bayfieldcounty.wi.gov/437/GIS-MetadataFor the 2023 submission, some duplicate values were included as-is since some of the attributes are unique (coordinate values, surveyors, field work dates, comments etc.). Unique corner numbers may be assigned in the future to better sort and manage these duplicate corners. Our GIS Web Map (https://maps.bayfieldcounty.wi.gov/BayfieldWAB) shows all records for a single corner combined into a multi-page PDF; this will be a great resource for the public if the statewide PLSS database doesn't include duplicate corner records.]
Purpose
This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This layer is intended to be used as part of the Bayfield County GIS dataset.]
